We’re proud to recognise the contribution of six sponsored reservists from the Whole Force Approach (WFA) Team who recently supported Exercise RHINO STORM on the Sennelager Training Area in Paderborn, Germany.
The team comprised of four Defence Plant Operators and two Defence Plant Maintainers, who played a vital role supporting the Comat Readiness Training Center, Germany (CRTC(G)). Acting as a critical capability in support of the exercise enablers, the team provided essential plant operations and maintenance support. This aided in ensuring successful training for the 3,000 regular and reservist soldiers, primarily from the British Army’s “Desert Rats”, the 7th Light Mechanised Brigade Combat Team.
Working alongside Regular Army personnel, our sponsored reservists demonstrated the value of the WFA by providing essential plant operating and maintenance capabilities that helped support the demanding requirements of the exercise. Their professionalism, technical expertise and commitment ensured that critical engineering and battlefield infrastructure tasks were delivered safely and effectively throughout the six-week training period.
Exercise RHINO STORM highlighted the importance of integrating specialist civilian and military skills to enhance operational readiness and deliver realistic, challenging training environments for our Armed Forces.
